Small Ornamental Pond
Biological
Treatment Summary
The Situation
"I'm plagued with a problem with algae
in my outdoor pond. I have heard that your product
Aquaculture does a decent job of control algae. Is this
true?"
The owner of this pond was
experiencing continual organic loading problems in his
outdoor pond. His water was "pea soup" and he could not
see his fish. His 1,000-gallon pond contained goldfish
and aquatic plants. The pond had a two-chamber sponge
filter, UV-filter, and finally a bio-filter.
The Solution
Recommended the pond be treated with
Aquaculture and provided seed, intensive maintenance,
and regular maintenance application rates. Intensive
maintenance were applied until the organic load had
subsided. The UV filter was turned off before the seed
application and remained off for 24 hours.
The Results
The customer noticed a "significant
reduction in the sludge buildup in his bio-filter. He
thought this was "good" sludge, and became alarmed. This
sludge was actually a buildup of dead organic matter and
non-beneficial organisms that prevented his bio-filter
from performing adequately. In a few more days the pond
problems were noticeably subsiding. After several weeks
of maintenance, the pond cleared completely, resulting
in a very satisfied customer.
"The pond is beautiful and clear thx
to your product. The reviews were dead on."
