Hotel & Bungalows - Hawaii
This
Hotel on the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii
rises from the midst of a 16th century lava flow. This
hotel was built with great respect for the land, and it
has carefully preserved ancient Hawaiian fishponds. Some
of the impressive inhabitants of these historical
natural ponds consist of Koi fish and the endangered
Hawaiian green sea turtle. These ancient ponds are a
mixture of fresh and salt water.

The ponds around
the Hotel first began experiencing algae blooms
10 years ago, and the staff spent valuable hours
and expense to manually remove the algae from
the natural ponds in an attempt to remedy the
situation.
Over time, the
algae blooms took over the ponds, and the
world-renowned Hotel Biologists were at "wits
end".
Within three
weeks of the first treatment with Aquaculture,
the Biologist Consultants on staff for the hotel
stated the "massive algae growth" which had been
a "nightmare", completely disappeared.
The Hotel
continues to rely on Aquaculture to control the
organic buildup and maintain water clarity in
their natural and man-made ponds surrounding the
hotel grounds. |
